Bunk Bed
My muscles are sore, my thumb is messed up, and I still have a wood splinter in my foot because of you. Damn bunk bed.
Screen cap from "Monster Camp"
This is from Apple's trailer website, it's an indie film about World of Warcraft folks who go all out in their obsession. Anyway, I saw this and was surprised because I used to work with this guy and talk to him (still do when I see him.) Anyway, there's even a shot of him in his Freddy's monkey suit working in toys. He doesn't work there anymore.
Cats and their evil deeds
"He didn't lock you in the bathroom," I reassured. "He can't reach it."
"No, yesterday," she added.
"Wilbur didn't lock you in the bathroom, he's just a cat."
"No, yesterday."
"Zoe, he doesn't have opposable thumbs, he has paws. Besides, the bathroom only locks from the inside, he can't lock you in from the outside."
"No," insisted Zoe. "Wilbur."

Weather affliction
The sun was dulled by clouds for a while, so we did go outside to wash the Honda. It has been over a year since I've washed it, a far cry from my weekly washes I used to do pre-children. It looks so purty now.
During the trip out to Walmart I got myself a corded drill. I have a cordless drill and a cordless screwdriver already, but the problem with cordless tools are that they're never charged when you need them. And because of the nickel cadium batteries in them, they eventually lose the ability to hold a charge past a couple minutes, then you're back to torquing it with muscle. So now I can drill at will.
Bunk beds
---
Well, here's the update. Drove 30 miles to Walmart only to find one of the pieces of wood was shattered, so we had to resort to plan B and got a second bunk bed from Freds. And because I started so late it didn't get finished, so the kids slept on half assembled, non-stacking beds last night. Hopefully I can get the beds done in a couple hours so that I can enjoy this nice weather for this weekend. So yeah, at Walmart right now returning the stupid thing.

Today we went for Dim Sum, which is about the only time I consume any form of seafood on any scale. It was delicious as always, although at 68 bucks, it certainly was a bit extravagant for brunch. I've adopted my mother's instinct to finish food off of my kids' plates, so that we don't waste any food. Of course, I do have the gut to prove that no food has indeed be thrown out. I'm usually eating my share and scraps from my kids meals. I wonder what that makes me. Food recycler? Scrap finisher? Cheapskate?
So right now I'm in a food line at work, they are serving free food for Cinco de Mayo, and there's a two hour lunch, so I'm naturally behind that. The line seems to be picking up, so yippee.

"Don't step on the yellow part, Alex. You'll slip and fall."
"And DIE," added Zoe.
"He's not going to die, " I reassured, while my wife is stifling her chuckles.
